The West Vancouver Police Department is looking for the publics help in identifying a male who was involved in a bizarre alleged attack on a West Vancouver Stock Broker.

On Monday June 23 at approximately 1430hrs in the 2300 Block of Marine Drive, West Vancouver, a resident answered the front door to a stranger. The stranger on the doorstep stated that he was representing MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). He was holding a bunch of flowers in one hand and a packet of cookies in the other. The stranger stated that he was giving the flowers and cookies away. The resident informed the stranger that he had no interest in the flowers.

The resident stated that the stranger threw the flowers at him, insisting that he take them. The resident stated that the stranger then simultaneously punched him in the face and pepper sprayed him before turning and running away.

A search of the area failed to find any trace of the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, in his late thirties, of slim build, wearing a white dress shirt with a red chequered pattern and dress pants.

A phone call was later made to the victim of the assault. The caller stated that he should have taken the flowers. The caller then demanded that the victim stop Work related activities.

The West Vancouver Police Department is asking that any person who has knowledge of this offence or witnessed a male fitting the description running in the Dundarave area to contact them at 604 925 7300 and quote file # 08-7176.
