Appointment of Ms. Haleh (Holly) Alexander Mr. Robert McDonell to the West Vancouver Police Board.

Oh behalf of the West Vancouver Police Board, Chair Pamela Goldsmith-Jones is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Haleh (Holly) Alexander  and Mr. Robert McDonell to the West Vancouver Police Board.

Ms. Alexander is a Private Banker with RBC and brings over 17 years of financial services experience to her role on the Board. She holds a Masters Degree in the area of Business Administration and is past president of the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. McDonell is a partner of the Vancouver law firm Farris, Vaughan, Wills and Murphy LLP where he has been practicing law since 1983. His law practice includes a broad range of general civil and administrative litigation before the British Columbia Supreme Court, the BC Court of Appeal, the Federal Court of Canada, and the Supreme Court of Canada, including representation of all levels of government.

The West Vancouver Police Board is the civilian body to which the West Vancouver Police Department is accountable. The Board is a statutory body created by the British Columbia Police Act to oversee policing in the District of West Vancouver. The Board is comprised of the Mayor as Chair and six civilians appointed by the Lieutenant Governor of Council for the Province of British Columbia.

Both Holly and Robert are long time residents of West Vancouver and were sworn in at the regular Board meeting on Thursday, July 28, 2011.
