| 10:30hrs Update - Body on Cypress Mountain |
West Vancouver Police and the VPD Homicide Squad are continuing to actively investigate discovery of human remains on Cypress Mountain.
The BC Coroner's Service is now scheduled to conduct an autopsy Thursday on the body of a man discovered on Cypress Mountain Tuesday.
The investigation remains very active, however there is no new information to release regarding either the cause of death or the man's identity.
West Vancouver Police were called after trail maintenance volunteers discovered a man's body shortly before 5:30 Tuesday afternoon.
The body was removed overnight, however police are continuing to secure the scene and surrounding area. Cypress Mountain Road is closed to the public at the Hollyburn Cabins Access until further notice. The death is being treated as suspicious.
The investigation is being conducted by VPD Homicide and WVPD Investigators. WVPD Forensic Identification officers will continue to work at the scene today.
West Vancouver Police have a Detective seconded to VPD Homicide as part of a working agreement under which suspicious deaths in West Vancouver are jointly investigated by VPD and WVPD.
