| Body Discovered on Cypress Mountain |
West Vancouver Police are investigating discovery of human remains in a wooded area of Cypress Mountain.
West Vancouver Police were called after volunteers conducting trail maintenance discovered a man's body shortly before 5:30 Tuesday afternoon. Cause of death has not been determined, however the circumstances are being treated as suspicious. Identity has not been confirmed and the investigation is at a very preliminary stage. WVPD Forensic Identification officers, and WVPD and VPD Homicide investigators are at the scene. There will not be an opportunity for media interviews overnight. Access to the immediate area of the investigation is being restricted by way of temporary road closures on Cypress Mountain Road. Further information will be released as soon as possible Wednesday morning. West Vancouver Police have a Detective seconded to VPD Homicide as part of a working agreement under which suspicious deaths in West Vancouver are jointly investigated by VPD and WVPD.
