West Vancouver Police and the BC Coroner's Service are continuing to investigate the death of a teenage girl in a motor vehicle incident shortly after 10:00pm Tuesday evening.

Emergency crews were called to the 400 block of Keith Rd. to attend to a 16 year old girl critically injured after exiting a moving vehicle. Despite first aid and emergency medical care the girl subsequently died.

Investigators say no evidence of criminal action has been identified. Investigators have found no evidence to indicate the girl's exit from the vehicle was against her will.

West Vancouver Police Traffic investigators have also completed an examination of the vehicle and found no mechanical defect.

The victim has been identified as 16 year old Murphy Patricia Delesalle of West Vancouver.

West Vancouver Police and the BC Coroner's Service are in ongoing communication with the family. West Vancouver Police and WVPD Victim Services are also working closely with West Vancouver Schools to address counselling needs of friends and associates of the victim.
