After a few instances of mail theft in West Vancouver,  the WVPD want to issue the following warning and advice " Collect your mail everyday".

The West Vancouver Police is issuing the following information bulletin as a result of several community mailboxes being broken into.
The WVPD is requesting Public Assistance in reducing opportunities for criminals engaged in profiting from Identity Theft.
If you presently receive mail in a community mail box, please ensure you exercise due diligence and collect your mail contents daily.
Thieves prey on community mail boxes and steal any content which may disclose personal information. They use that content to acquire new identities which enable them to apply for Credit Cards, Mortgages, acquire and cash personal cheques and or Money Orders.
If you observe anyone acting suspicious near a community mailbox, please call the WVPD so that a Police Officer could attend and assess the situation.
