A group of young film students got a stark lesson in production planning today in West Vancouver.

Shortly after 1pm Tuesday afternoon, West Vancouver Police responded to a report of two males arguing in Light House Park, with one of the males said to be armed with a rifle and knife.

West Vancouver Police members quickly contained the park and surrounding area and started to evacuate pedestrian traffic from the perceived danger zone.

Attending police members quickly located and arrested four teenage males.  A pellet rifle and knife were recovered.

All four males were arrested for Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and transported to the West Vancouver Police Department.

Investigators have since determined the males are film students and were engaged in the production of a small film.

The four males, all residents of West Vancouver have been released. Investigators will recommend resolution of this matter through alternative measures.

West Vancouver Police caution all members of the public against carrying or displaying weapons or weapon replicas in public areas.

Any persons contemplating film or video projects should consult with West Vancouver Police in advance.
