| Have A Happy And Safe New Year's Eve |
Happy New Year From the officers and civilian staff of the West Vancouver Police! We wish you the best for your celebration and encourage you to plan ahead for a safe start to the New Year.
If your New Year's celebration includes alcohol, please ensure you find a safe way home.
Extra West Vancouver Police officers are on duty for New Year's Eve. Protection of life is our most important duty as police and that will include making every effort to get alcohol and drug impaired drivers off the road.
West Vancouver Police have served 87 drivers with 24 hour Driving Prohibitions due to alcohol, Six 24 hour Driving Prohibitions have been served for Drug Impairment.
If you observe any vehicle being driven in a manner that makes you suspect the driver is impaired, West Vancouver Police encourage you to immediately call 911 for a police response.
West Vancouver Police encourage all drivers to consider safe alternatives as they celebrate the holiday season, non-drinking designated drivers, transit, or taxis, or community based safe driving services like as Operation Red Nose.
North Shore Rotary Clubs will continue to provide “safe rides home” on December 31st between 9 pm and 3 am. Volunteers drive you and your car home for free. Donations are welcome and proceeds support North Shore youth programs.
