On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the West Vancouver Police Department responded to a report of a Home Invasion and an Assault with a Weapon in the 300-block of Klahanie Court, West Vancouver.

A 22-year-old male suspect broke into the home and pointed a firearm at a 20-year-old male victim. A fight ensued and the victim was hit in the face, causing a minor laceration above the victim’s right eye. The injury did not require medical attention. A 49-year-old female resident broke up the fight and called the police.
The male suspect fled the scene in a Grey Mazda 3 driven by another male, prior to police arrival. Both individuals were known to police and were arrested and taken into custody by the West Vancouver Police Department, without incident, with the assistance of the North Vancouver RCMP. The vehicle was located and seized for investigative purposes and has since been released.
20-year-old Magic Rahmati and 22-year-old Ehsan Manafzadeh-Tabriz, both North Vancouver residents, have been charged with Break and Enter, Assault with A Weapon, Point a Firearm and Possess a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.  Both were held in custody and will be attending court this morning.
Though early in the investigation, the West Vancouver Police believe this to be a targeted event and do not have a concern for public safety.
Anyone with any information relating to this investigation is asked to contact the West Vancouver Police Department and reference file 12-846.
