Robbery – Home Invasion

 

Early in the morning of Wednesday, January 18, 2012, the West Vancouver Police Department responded to a home invasion in the 400-block of Raindance Crescent, West Vancouver.

 At approximately 4:00 am, an unknown male forced his way into a residence while the occupants were sleeping. The male suspect then assaulted a 72-year-old male occupant. The victim sustained facial injuries and was treated at the scene by BC Ambulance personnel. The 70-year-old female homeowner, who was also in the residence, was not assaulted or injured.  
Before fleeing the residence, the suspect stole a wooden jewelry box containing miscellaneous jewelry as well as a man’s wallet containing some cash and credit cards.
West Vancouver Police Department has deployed the Criminal Investigation Section, Police K-9 Units, Forensic Identification Section and Victim Services to assist in the investigation as well as notified the North Vancouver RCMP and the Vancouver Police Department.
Suspect description: The suspect is described as a male of unknown race, 5’10” and approximately 200lbs. The suspect wore dark clothing with a baseball cap and a bandana on his face. He spoke English and had a deep voice.
