A 38-year-old female fraud suspect is back in custody after a West Vancouver police surveillance team witnessed her purchasing some cellular phones using false identification.

On November 18, 2011, members from the West Vancouver Police Special Operations Team (SPOT) set up surveillance on a female suspect they had previously dealt with. At approximately 5:30 p.m., the surveillance team witnessed the suspect enter a cellular phone store on Kingsway Avenue, in Burnaby, where she made a purchase after allegedly producing false identification.

Members of the surveillance team quickly moved in and arrested the female, who was found to be in possession of identification believed to be forged.

As a result of this incident, the 38-year-old resident of New Westminster had her parole revoked and was returned to a correctional institution. West Vancouver police investigators will be recommending charges of Uttering a Forged Document and Fraud in the near future. The investigation is ongoing.
