Break and Enter suspects caught

On November 4, 2011, the WV Police attended to an interrupted residential break and enter in the 2000-block of 26th Street.

Police were advised of an alarm activation originating at the residence. When police arrived on-scene, they spoke to a witness who observed a male and female passing property to one another from a garage window. The female attempted to escape but was located by a RCMP police dog while hiding in a yard in the 2700-block of Roseberry Avenue. After being taken into custody, she was transported to the WVPD where she received treatment for dog bite injuries. She was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear with conditions.

Her male accomplice broke out of the garage and also attempted to escape, however he was quickly taken into custody after a brief struggle with the arresting officer and the witness. While attempting his escape, the male injured his head by falling onto a concrete driveway; he was transported to hospital where he received treatment for his injury and was subsequently transported to WVPD where, after a JJP hearing, he was remanded until November 10, 2011.

Arrested in relation to this incident is 47-year-old Andrew Roy CROSS and a 34-year-old female; both from Vancouver. Both suspects are known to police and have extensive criminal records.

Coincidentally, the residence was also broken into on two occasions within the last two months. WV Police executed a search warrant at CROSS’ residence in the 3700-block of Quebec Street and recovered stolen property taken from the two previous break-ins.

Still missing is a limited edition Blancpain 50 Fathoms Rose Gold watch engraved with #40 of 100. Please refer to the attached photograph for a detailed description.
