Stolen vehicle containing two passengers collides with police vehicle near Caulfield exit on Highway #1

  

On October 12, 2011, at 03:48 hours, WV Police responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the 5700-block of Marine Drive. A WV Police officer attended and located the vehicle.

 

WV Police requested the driver to pull over and exit the vehicle; however the driver refused to stop and attempted to elude the officer. The suspicious vehicle was driven to Highway #1 where it collided with a marked WV Police emergency vehicle which was parked eastbound on Highway #1. The Police Officer involved in the collision was not hurt; the two occupants of the suspicious vehicle, now confirmed to be stolen, sustained minor injuries and were taken to Lions Gate Hospital for treatment.

 

Arrested in relation to this offence are a 55-year-old male and a 41-year-old male, both without a fixed address. Both males are known to police and have extensive criminal records. They will appear in North Vancouver Provincial Court later this afternoon

 

WV Police will be recommending charges of Possession of Stolen Property and Flight in relation to this incident.
