Two vehicles seized and driving prohibitions issued to two new drivers

  

On Sept 02, 2011, the West Vancouver Police were monitoring traffic in the 3700 block of Cypress Bowl Road.

At 10:08 a.m. an officer observed and recorded on his speed laser a newer model Porcshe and BMW travelling at 143 kilometers per hour in a 60 kilometer zone.

The driver of the BMW sped past the officer in an attempt to elude, the driver of the Porsche made an evasive maneuver by pulling a u-turn and fleeing the away from the officer.

The BMW was located in a ditch and sustained approximately $15,000 in damage, the Porsche was located at a nearby school.

Both vehicles were impounded for street racing and the two drivers both of whom are 17 years of age and novice drivers were prohibited from driving for 15 days, Police will be recommending the following charges: Excessive Speeding and Failing to Stop for Police.
