Unconscious diver located at a depth of 45 ft and Air Lifted to Hospital. 

 

 

On 2010 August 22 at 12:10 hrs. the West Vancouver Police received a complaint in relation to a diver who failed to surface in the waters off of Whytecliff Park.
West Vancouver Police members attended the scene and were met by Coast Guard officers who further advised one unconscious diver and a distressed diver were being brought to the surface.
A diver instructor who happened to be in close proximity with his own diving students heard cries for help, as a result him and other divers responded.
 They quickly formed a search plan/ grid; As the team searched  the waters, the diving instructor who organized the search located the unconscious diver within minutes and brought her to the surface from a depth of 45 ft..
Rescued is a 46 yr old female from Port Moody who was Air Ambulanced to the Vancouver General Hospital, and her 65 yr  old male diving companion,.
Police later attended the Coast Guard office and  seize the diving equipment.  As of this report time the divers condition is unknown.
